August 21st Highlights

*8/21/2008 HIGHLIGHTS - Offensive Player of the Week

New York Penn League
Luis Sumoza, Lowell Spinners
.565 (13-23), 8 R, 4 2B, 0 3B, 3 HR, 10 RBI, 4 BB, 6 SO, 2 SB, 1.130 SLG
On July 27, Sumoza was hitting .304 and the Venezuelan outfielder had gotten a hit in 19 of his previous 20 games. Then Sumoza went into a nasty slump with just one hit in his next 26 at-bats. In the process, his batting average would drop 50 points and his first .300 season seemed out of reach. However, Sumoza is quickly becoming one of the Minor Leagues' streakiest players with 15 hits in his last eight games, nine of them going for extra bases. On Sunday, Sumoza had three extra-base hits, including two home runs for the first time in the Minor Leagues.

*8/21/2008 HIGHLIGHTS - Pitcher of the Week

Pinoeer Baseball League
Buddy Boshers, Orem Owlz

2-0, 0.82 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 11.0 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 6 SO
It seems like no one has played poorly for the Owlz in the last two weeks, with the team in the midst of a franchise-record 14-game winning streak. Four pitchers have two wins during the streak, but the best of the bunch has been Boshers. On Aug. 11, the Owlz had a rare off day at the plate, scoring just four runs. However, it was Boshers who bailed them out, holding Missoula to just one run over six innings. Five days later, Boshers was even better, allowing only an unearned run to Helena over five innings. The Huntsville, Ala., native has yet to lose in 10 appearances with Orem this season.

2008 LMG Client Retreat

January 2008- LMG held its 4th Annual Client Retreat in Lake Mary, Florida.

Tom gathers everyone together just before the season starts so that he and his clients can spend some time together in a relaxed, fun environment. It's a nice break before the players start focusing on preparing for the upcoming season. Players and business associates of LMG came out and enjoyed a weekend of good food, drink, and the third annual LMG golf tournament.

LMG partner John Morgan hosted everyone at his beautiful home before the group went out to downtown Orlando for some fun on the town.
