I’m Juan M. Padilla, pitcher of the New York Mets and Founder and Director of PRO-Dream Agency. When I was just a little kid playing baseball in the leagues around my neighborhood in Levittown, P.R. I always dreamed of playing one day for a team in the Major Leagues. Thanks to God, my dream became a reality on July 16, 2004 when I was called up to the Majors with the New York Yankees. Since then, I have played for the Cincinnati Reds, the New York Mets, and the Puerto Rican National Team. The PRO-Dream Baseball Camp has been a dream of mine for many years, and I would like it to become a reality. PRO-Dream Baseball Camp is designed to help children in our communities of Puerto Rico to develop a healthy and positive mental attitude for life using baseball as a medium. I would like to share my dream, and let children everywhere know that you can accomplish anything your heart desires. I did it, and so can they.

My vision is to raise money for area non-profit organizations in the community by creating a baseball camp in which professional baseball players are the camp instructors. Through direct interaction, players, like me, can share our knowledge to help children develop their skills in the game of baseball. The camp will emphasize the proper techniques used to play the game, in areas such as; fielding, hitting, pitching, and physical training. The children will learn drills and exercises that will help them every time they take the field. In addition, the camp will build the self-esteem of each participant and inspire them to dream big.

I hope my vision will inspire you to want to help me make PRO-Dream a reality. I would like to have four sessions of the camp. Each session would be over three days with approximately three hours per day. The tentative dates for the camp are: Session I – December 21-23, from 9am-12pm; Session II – December 28-30, from 9am-12pm; Session III – January 11-13, from 9am-12pm; Session IV – January 19-21, from 9am-12pm. The proposed location for the camp is the Municipal Stadium of Toa Baja, P.R.. All the profits from the camp will be donated to four local charities of our choice.

It will be an honor to have your company be apart of my vision to give back to our community.

Format and Scope of Services:

The format for each Camp session will consist of stations focusing on one specific area including, hitting, fielding, pitching, & physical training. Each station will be attended in a round robin manor. A multi-station format allows for adjustments to be made to meet the specific needs of the players in each group. For example, one-on-one instruction will provide better in-depth analysis of the player's weaknesses. Advantages of a team clinic are the ability to incorporate specific drills and to illustrate particular situations

Expenses:

The estimated expense to run PRO-Dram Baseball Camp is $40,000.00.
The estimated expense for each session is $10,000.00.
These expenses are divided as follow:
1. Equipment: balls, bats, nets, helmets, hitting t, bases and others.
2. Uniforms: shorts, t-shirts, bags and hats.
3. Drinks: water cooler, water, cups, ice, Gatorade or PowerAde.
4. Lunch
5. Insurance.
6. Personnel: trainers, coaches, and coordinators.
